Journey To Eternity

A dark performance venue with an audience and a performer surrounded by projection screens

Journey to Eternity is a large-scale immersive audiovisual performance that merges original music, visual art, poetic voice-over, live performance, custom instruments, found sounds, sound design, and generative visual systems into one continuous experience.

Rooted in biblical content, the work explores the human journey from existence and new life through identity, ambition, solitude, relationship, suffering, grief, hope, legacy, and ultimately eternity. Rather than functioning as a theological lecture, the production uses contemporary audiovisual art to invite reflection on fundamental human questions and the possibility of a greater story.

Artistic Vision

Journey to Eternity is my personal perspective on the journey of human life and what I have learned as a Christian. Its ten works function as individual perspectives while forming a single narrative arc.

The goal is not simply for an audience to watch a sequence of videos, but to experience a live video manipulation performance. An environment in which sound and image surround them and the stage itself becomes part of the visual canvas. At the center of the work is a simple invitation: to pause, reflect, and consider what truly matters.

Core narrative arc: Creation / Existence → Birth / Identity → Becoming / Learning → Ambition / Dreams → Solitude → Relationship / Love → Suffering → Loss / Grief → Meaning / Hope / Legacy → Eternity.

Biblical Foundation & Contemporary Expression

Biblical content provides the framework for the poetic expression, with meaning interwoven through audio and visuals as one unified, triune experience. Across the ten works, themes of creation, purpose, identity, perseverance, love, compassion, mortality, hope, legacy, and eternity progressively emerge. The final movement shifts perspective toward the One who has known and shaped the human journey from its beginning.

Using the modern tools of immersive visual and audio technology, I seek to communicate what God’s Word means to me and invite others into that experience. This performance provides a creative platform to express my faith as an artist and share the good news of the gospel through music, visual art, and innovative performance.

The Ten Works:
The Journey of Human Life

01. Design of Existence

Where did we come from, and why do we exist?

The opening work considers the universe, nature, humanity, and the possibility of intentional design. Human beings are presented as part of creation, possessing the capacity to feel, seek, wonder, create, and search for purpose.

Biblical themes: Genesis 1–2; Psalm 139

02. New Life

A life is given. What will we make of it?

Every human life begins unique, carrying individuality, possibility, and creative potential. The work introduces life not as a completed identity but as a gift whose meaning will unfold through choices, relationships, experience, and purpose.

Biblical themes: Psalm 139:13–16; Ephesians 2:10

03. Life Unwritten

Who will I become?

We arrive without knowing who we will become. Learning, questions, experience, adversity, and discovery shape us, yet the past does not have to determine the future. Human identity remains capable of growth and continued becoming.

Biblical themes: Romans 5:3–5; James 1:2–4

04. Chasing Dreams

What is worth pursuing?

Human beings devote enormous energy to career, success, recognition, achievement, and dreams. The work asks whether reaching those goals ultimately satisfies and whether accomplishment without relationship, giving, love, and purpose can become empty.

Biblical themes: Mark 8:36; Matthew 6:19–21

05. On Your Own

Can we do life alone?

There is an unavoidable aloneness within human existence: no one else can completely inhabit our inner world, make our choices, or live our life. Yet the shared experience of loneliness can itself reveal a deeper human connection and raise the question of whether we are ever truly alone.

Biblical themes: Psalm 139:7–12; Hebrews 13:5

06. Together

What changes when another person enters our life?

Companionship introduces vulnerability, friendship, trust, and love. Sharing life does not eliminate difficulty, but it changes how we experience and carry it. The work explores the transformative power of being known and walking with another person.

Biblical themes: Ecclesiastes 4:9–12; John 13:34

07. Affliction

What happens when life becomes unbearable?

This movement enters the perspective of the sufferer and then the person who stands beside them. Compassion may not be able to remove suffering, but it can refuse to abandon the person who is experiencing it. Presence itself becomes an act of love.

Biblical themes: Psalm 34:18; Matthew 11:28; 2 Corinthians 1:3–4

08. Faded Light

What remains when someone we love is physically gone?

Death introduces absence, grief, and the painful reality of impermanence. Yet love does not simply disappear when physical presence ends. Because life is fragile, the work also becomes an invitation to express love while there is still time.

Biblical themes: Psalm 23; John 11:25–26; Revelation 21:4

09. Horizon of Hope

Did my life matter?

Looking back across a lifetime raises the question of legacy. The work proposes that significance is not ultimately measured by fame, career, possessions, or recognition, but by love, giving, service, and the ways one human life has made another life better.

Biblical themes: 1 Corinthians 13:13; Matthew 25:35–40

10. Eternity

Is this all there is?

The final movement asks what lies beyond death and time. The perspective shifts toward the One sought throughout the journey: the One who has known, shaped, and accompanied human existence from the beginning. The journey is presented not as meaningless or accidental, but as belonging to a purpose larger than temporal life.

Biblical themes: John 3:16; John 14:1–3; 1 Corinthians 9:25

Immersive Audiovisual
Performance Concept

Journey to Eternity is envisioned as a large-scale immersive spatial 3D audiovisual live performance in which the entire stage can function as a visual canvas. Music, voice-over, sound design, imagery, lighting, and live performance are integrated so that the audience experiences the work as an environment rather than as a conventional screen presentation.

3D spatial audio, immersive sound design, and original music are integrated with live performance and poetic voice-over inspired by biblical content. Large-scale projections combine custom-made ISF shaders with generative visuals, shaped and manipulated in real time to create an evolving visual environment. Sound and visuals interact with one another, creating a dynamic relationship between music, movement, and color.

Found sounds, custom instruments, and contemporary compositional and performance techniques expand the expressive possibilities. Layered or semi-transparent surfaces create the desired depth, with the performer positioned on stage between the visuals.

Audience Experience

The audience should not feel that they are simply watching ten videos accompanied by music. The intention is for the audience to become part of the journey, as image, sound, voice, space, and live performance continually transform the experience.

Abstract and futuristic visual language can invite interpretation rather than dictate a single literal response. Spatial sound can move beyond conventional stereo presentation, while voice-over provides the human narrative thread connecting the ten stages.

The desired result is an experience that temporarily removes the audience from the monotony and distraction of everyday life and creates space for stillness, emotional connection, reflection, hope, and consideration of eternity.

Closing Vision

Journey to Eternity presents an opportunity to bring together faith, creativity, technology, education, and collaboration in a single immersive production.

At its core, the project reflects the human experience: we are born, we become, we dream, we struggle, we love, we lose, we hope, and eventually we confront the mystery of eternity.

A space to pause, reflect,  andconsider  a greater story.
